ZAGREB, Aug 31 (Hina) - Elections for Bosnian citizens in Croatia
began at 7 a.m. on Saturday with the opening of 86 election posts
all over Croatia.
117,421 Bosnian citizens have registered so far and they will
be able to vote today and on Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
At election posts voters must submit a photocopy of form P-1
on which they registered for voting and show an identity document
with photo. The voter then gets an envelope containing five
ballots. The purple one, for municipal elections, must not be
filled in, because municipal elections were delayed by the
Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).
All Bosnian citizens will vote for a three-member Presidency
of Bosnia-Herzegovina (golden ballot) and the Lower House of BH
(white ballot). Voters from the Federation of BH will also vote for
the Lower House of the Federation (yellow ballot) and for the
assemblies of federal counties (gray ballot). Voters from the Serb
entity in BH will vote for the Presidency of Republika Srpska (blue
ballot) and for the People's Assembly of Republika Srpska (yellow
ballot).
Each filled in ballot must be put in an envelope of the same
colour and these in a white return-envelope to be sealed and
dropped in ballot boxes.
The voting is supervised by 30 OSCE members, the organizers of
the elections, monitored by more than 220 accredited monitors and
followed by more than 150 accredited home and foreign reporters.
The National Coordination Committee for the Scheduling and
Holding of Elections of Bosnian citizens in Croatia is expected to
report twice today on the number of voters who have taken part in
the elections. The first report is expected around 2 p.m.
