SARAJEVO, Aug 22 (Hina) - U.S. Assistant State Secretary in charge of narcotics Robert Gelbard on Thursday said in Sarajevo that the international community would do everything for the creation of safety conditions for the upcoming
elections in Bosnia, but that the greatest responsibility lay with bodies of authority in the Bosnian Federation and the Republika Srpska. Gelbard stressed that he was satisfied with the results of his talks with President of the Bosnian Presidency Alija Izetbegovic and Federation President Kresimir Zubak, and announced that he would ask officials in the Serb entity to create conditions for refugees to freely arrive and vote in the Serb entity.

All the necessary preparations were being carried out well,
Gelbard said at the news conference.
He added that the possible postponement of the elections would
not bear results.
There would always be problems, he said, refuting statements
that the insisting on the holding of the elections on September 14
was connected with the approach of the American presidential
elections.
