"If we do not reach an agreement till August 23, the Croatian
side will no longer insist on a deadline, August 23. We are in no
hurry, Croatia cares for the quality of the agreement, not the
date," Simonovic said, adding that the normalization process had
been lasting for some time now, since the signing of the Dayton
Agreement.
Simonovic stressed that Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic
would arrive in Belgrade only when a completely settled text of an
agreement was reached.
He described the atmosphere of the talks as constructive,
adding that the search for a compromise would continue.
The talks are to continue in the afternoon.
Participating in the talks is also Yugoslav Foreign Minister
Milan Milutinovic.
