SARAJEVO, July 12 (Hina) - U.S. Commerce Secretary Mickey Kantor,
who is heading a delegation of 18 U.S. government agencies on a
visit to Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina, met in Sarajevo on Friday
with Bosnian President Alija Izetbegovic and Bosnian Federation
President Kresimir Zubak.
U.S. and Bosnian officials signed an agreement on investment
stimulation and memorandums on tranining flight controllers and
investment in big infrastructure projects. The two sides also
agreed to repair the railway line linking Sarajevo to the southern
Croatian Adriatic port of Ploce.
Kantor told a news conference that each of the projects should
be seen as U.S. determination to implement the peace agreement in
Bosnia-Herzegovina, as humanitarian aid and as the strenghtening of
trade relations between the two countries.
Zubak said he had told Kantor that Federation officials should
be included to a greater extent in future talks.
Bosnian Prime Minister Hasan Muratovic said that by signing
the agreements, the US showed its resoluteness to implement the
Dayton peace accords.
