PLOCE, June 24 (Hina) - Some 11,400 tons of flour, beans, wheat and other foodstuffs were on Monday delivered into the port of Ploce (central Adriatic) by a U.S. ship "The Cleveland" from the U.S. port of Lake Charles. The donation
was organized by a United Nations specialized humanitarian association "World Food Programme", for the victims of war in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
PLOCE, June 24 (Hina) - Some 11,400 tons of flour, beans, wheat and
other foodstuffs were on Monday delivered into the port of Ploce
(central Adriatic) by a U.S. ship "The Cleveland" from the U.S.
port of Lake Charles.
The donation was organized by a United Nations specialized
humanitarian association "World Food Programme", for the victims of
war in Bosnia-Herzegovina. #L#
The Ploce-based "World Food Programme" office said that some
280,000 tons of help had been sent to Bosnia-Herzegovina via the
port of Ploce since the establishment of the "World Food Programme"
Office, in February 1993.
A special package of medicine and a modern computer costing
some US $4,000 were also delivered to Ploce.
This package was donated to the Ploce health service and
primary schools by the "Sealift INC" shipping company from New
York.
