of the 'Equip and Train' program in Bosnia-Herzegovina on Tuesday.

"I am pleased to announce the beginning of the US-sponsored
'Equip and Train' program for the armed forces of the Bosnian
Federation," US President Bill Clinton said in a statement.
The conditions Bosnia had to meet to qualify for the program
included the departure of foreign military forces, the suspension
of the intelligence cooperation with Iran and the passage of the
Defence Act.
On July 26, the US President confirmed that foreign troops had
left the territory of Bosnia-Herzegovina and that intellingence
relations had been broken off. The Defence Act was passed on
Tuesday.
"I am pleased to note that the Bosnian Federation Parliament
passed the new Defence Act this afternoon. Bosnian President Alija
Izetbegovic and Federation President Kresimir Zubak have bridged
many important issues to allow the Defence Act to become a
reality," the statement concluded.
