Newspapers close to the Social Democratic Action (SDA), as is
the "Dnevni Avaz" daily, published that the elections in Mostar are
a victory for Safet Orucevic's (member of the leading Bosniac SDA)
list 'For a United Mostar', commenting that the "united town
achieved victory".
The "Oslobodjenje" daily on Tuesday avoided commenting the
first electoral results and only run a headline on the front page
saying that the list 'For a United Mostar' had won most votes.
The Sarajevo press also run the first statements of
representatives of opposition parties who did not hide their
disappointment with the lukewarm support their candidates had
received.
Deputy president of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Zlatko
Lagumdzija, accused members of the Mission of Good Will from
Turkey, Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina for entering the polling
stations with Orucevic (SDA) and Brajkovic (Croatian Democratic
Union of Bosnia-Herzegovina, HDZ), describing the action as
manipulation.
SDP president Nijaz Durakovic said that the Mostar elections
had again brought the people to be organized according to the
national principle.
Party for Bosnia-Herzegovina president Haris Silajdzic said
that the Sunday's elections were a victory in the fight for a
united Mostar and democracy.
