ZAGREB, June 18 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on
Tuesday received credentials from Vienna-based Japanese Ambassador
to Croatia, Yushu Takashima.
"The Japanese government is fully aware of the important and
constructive role of your country, which is necessary for the peace
and stability of this region, and especially for the peace process
determined by the Dayton agreement", Takashima told Tudjman.
President Tudjman said that Croatia would endeavour to develop
"deeper and wider relations with Japan", because "we highly regard
Japan's role as one of the main economic powers in the world, and
Japan's role within the frame of U.N. and internationally in
general", he concluded.
