days. #L#
Political parties can register for elections until June 14
instead of 7 June, as had been announced previously. The commission
said that the deadline was extended because they wanted to enable
as many parties and candidates as possible to participate in the
elections.
According to the earlier published election rules, all parties
which want to put up their candidates for offices at state level or
the level of entity, have to gather 10,000 signatures for the
registration. Candidates who want to take part in the elections at
cantonal level, have to gather 1,500 signatures and those who want
to participate in municipal elections, 200 signatures. Independent
candidates, who want to run for highest state positions have to
gather 5,000 signatures.
