IFOR spokesman Simon Haselock said that IFOR high officials,
led by General Michael Willcocks, are to hold separate talks with
representatives of the Croatian Defense Council (HVO), the Bosnian
Army and Bosnian Serb forces when the issue of withdrawing troops
into barracks and removing heavy artillery would be resolved. The
issue should have been resolved by April 19.
The first separate meetings are to take place this week.
NATO Commander, General George Joulwan, told Monday's news
conference in Brussels that between 80 and 95 percent of heavy arms
had been collected in places selected by IFOR by the end of the
time limit called D+120.
Some 90% of tanks and 85% of heavy artillery was under
supervision, Joulwan said.
He stressed that collecting heavy arms did not mean that
IFOR's mission was completed. In the next period IFOR troops would
supervise whether peace agreement regulations on use and placing of
heavy arms are complied with, Joulwan said.
