The Croatian delegation is headed by the president of the
Commission for detained and missing persons, Major Ivan Grujic,
while the Yugoslav delegation is led by the president of the
Commission for humanitarian issues and missing persons, Pavle
Todorovic. The meeting is also attended by the head of the
International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) mission in Zagreb,
Alex Braunwalder.
After he greeted efforts of the two commissions, Kostovic told
reporters he had conveyed to the commissions a wish of the Croatian
Government that a similar meeting be held on a higher political
level, as had been agreed in a deal signed in Dayton by Croatian
and Yugoslav foreign ministers Mate Granic and Milan Milutinovic
respectively.
The solution of the problem demanded political will, Kostovic
said, adding he hoped that progress would be made at today's talks.
The Croatian side was ready to continue the talks tomorrow as well,
should it be necessary, Kostovic said.
