Mothers, fathers and wives of missing and detained Croats gave
to Sommaruga extensive documentation, which they gathered and
submitted to the Human Rights Centre in Geneva. The documentation
included albums with photos of abducted and imprisoned Croat
defenders and civilians, a list with the names of 2,766 missing
persons and a cassette of the British TV station ITN with shots of
Vukovar and Vukovar hospital.
The Croatian delegation asked from Sommaruga to demand from
the Serbian President Milosevic access to the documentation on
missing persons so that the truth about their fate could be finally
established.
The ICRC president supported the humanitarian mission of the
Croatian non-government association, adding that regretfully, the
ICRC did not have the political power to solve that problem.
