According to the Headquarters' information, on 27 March, some
8,000 peasants blocked completely or partially 27 roads and border
crossings with 2,000 tractors and other vehicles.
'After this serious warning, the Protest Headquarters is
watching very intently what kind of measures the Croatian
Government will undertake to solve the problems of Croatian
peasants', a member of the Headquarters, Srdjan Markovic said.
'In case the authority fails to pay attention to peasants'
demands, we are going to undertake a lot stronger forms of protest
which in line with democracy', Markovic said.
The Headquarters also gave a positive estimate of the
behaviour of police forces on the ground, but also mentioned
several incidents including the filming and questioning of
protesters.
