FIRST LADY HILLARY CLINTON VISITS U.S. TROOPS IN BOSNIA

TUZLA, March 25 (Hina) - The first lady of the United States, Hillary Rodham Clinton, on Monday visited US troops deployed in northeastern Bosnia-Herzegovina as part of the NATO-led peace Implementation Force (IFOR). Accompanied by her daughter Chelsea and US ambassador to Bosnia-Herzegovina John Menses, Mrs Clinton toured US army camps outside Tuzla where she talked to soldiers and, as in the "Alicia" camp, had lunch with them. During her visit, Mrs Clinton met for talks with Federation Vice President Ejup Ganic, Cardinal Vinko Puljic, Orthodox Serb Metropolitan Nikolai, Banja Luka Bishop Franjo Komarica and political, cultural and business figures of the Federation and the Serb entity of Bosnia-Herzegovina. She also met representatives of non-governmental agencies active in the Tuzla area. Following a show featuring American rock star Sheryl Crow and comedian Sinbad, Mrs Clinton told US troops that they were showing the Bosnian Croats, Moslems and Serbs, Europe and the whole world that living together was possible. After Bosnia-Herzegovina, the first lady was scheduled to visit a US base at Aviano, Italy. (hina) vm 252002 MET mar 96
