The talks discussed strengthening bilateral relations in the
fields of economy and trade.
Green informed Sanader about his trip to Canada in January
when he met with representatives of the Croatian community in six
towns and with important Canadian trade and financial institutions.
The goal of the meeting was to promote trading and Canadian
investments in Croatia.
Bilateral agreements were being prepared on double taxation
avoidance and protection of foreign investments which would further
improve economic relations between Croatia and Canada, Green said.
Green and Sanader also tackled the possibilities of
establishing joint Croatian-Canadian companies, especially in the
field of construction.
Sanader expressed his full support to further promoting
cooperation in trade with Canada as well as his wish for continuing
and strengthening overall bilateral relations.
Present at the talks was also the head of the secretariat of
the President's Chief-of-staff, Miroslav Kovacic, the statement
