met Canadian Defence Minister David Collenett to discuss the
implementation of the Dayton Agreement and bilateral relations. #L#
"Minister Collenett stressed the good cooperation between
Croatian authorities and IFOR, particularly as regards IFOR's
deployment in Bosnia-Herzegovina," the President's spokesperson
Natasa Rajakovic told reporters after the talks.
Both sides voiced satisfaction with the progress of the
implementation of the Basic Agreement on the Croatian Danubian
area, she said.
Minister Collenett said Canada supported Croatia's admission
to the Parnership for Peace programme and President Tudjman
stressed that Croatia was ready to join the programme, according to
Rajakovic.
President Tudjman also expressed the hope that Canada would
take an active part in the reconstruction of war-ravaged parts of
Crotia, Rajakovic said.
Both sides expresed the wish that the Croatian community in
Canada would invest in Croatia's reconstruction and development,
she said.
Minister Collenett announced that Canada's Foreign Minister
would visit Croatia this spring. He would be accompanied by a group
of businessmen who would review the openings for Canada's
involvement in Croatia's reconstruction, Rajakovic concluded.
