VIS, March 16 (Hina) - IFOR logistic British units in Divulje (near Split) on Saturday began the reconstruction of a British graveyard on the central Adriatic island of Vis. The graveyard originates from the times of Napoleon's wars
when the first British soldiers were killed in Croatian territorial waters. Fourteen British air force pilots had been buried in the graveyard during the First World War. They were later exhumed and reburied in a British graveyard in Belgrade.
