ZAGREB, March 15 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic, a
government representative in UNTAES, Ivica Kostovic, and the
temporary administrator of the Transitional Administration for
eastern Slavonia, Baranja and western Srijem (UNTAES), Jacques
Klein, met for talks in Zagreb on Friday.
The meeting focused on details of minutes on opening the
Zagreb-Belgrade highway, air and railway traffic and other forms of
communication between Zagreb and Belgrade.
The minutes were signed by the Croatian and Yugoslav foreign
ministers on 11 March in Zagreb.
Granic, Kostovic and Klein discussed the problem of missing
persons, the return of refugees to the Croatian Danubian area and
the reintegration and reconstruction of the area.
"We do not think that there will be any serious obstacles in
establishing all these forms of communication," Granic said after
the talks.
The UNTAES was satisfied with the agreements between Croatia
and Yugoslavia and wants to implement them, Klein said. He added
that he would travel to Belgrade next Tuesday to continue talks
with the Serb side.
There was a consensus that the issue of missing persons must
be resolved as a precondition for the whole process of
reintegration, Kostovic said.
Minutes on opening the road and railway traffic should be
confirmed by the Yugoslav government by 19 March and their
implementation should begin 30 days later.
