U.N. TROOPS TO FULLY DEPLOY IN EASTERN CROATIA BY SUMMER

ZAGREB, March 1 (Hina) - UN troops will complete deployment in Eastern Slavonia, Baranja and Western Srijem by this summer, Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Kostovic said in Zagreb on Friday after talks with UN commander Belgian General Jozef Schoups. Kostovic said that they discussed the pace of deployment of troops which would serve with the UN Transitional Administration in Eastern Slavonia (UNTAES). Kostovic stressed that he was given assurances that the deployment process would began in next one or two months and that UNTAES troops would be at full strength in the shortest possible period.
