ZAGREB, March 13 (Hina) - Croatian President and Commander-in-chief
of Croatian Armed Forces on March 12 passed several decisions aimed
at returning the Armed Forces to their peace-time structure, the
President's office said in a statement.
The decisions, passed in accordance with Article 100 of the
Constitution and Articles 159 and 131 of the Service in Armed
Forces Act, include the following:
I.
- Admiral Sveto Letica was promoted to the grade of Staff (Fleet)
Admiral,
- Major Generals Kresimir Cosic, Pavao Miljavac i Miljenko Crnjac
were promoted to the grade of lieutenant general,
- Rear Admiral Vid Stipetic was promoted to the grade of vice-
admiral.
II.
- Lieutenant General Kresimir Cosic was appointed Deputy Defence
Minister,
- Lieutenant General Pavao Miljavac was appointed Deputy Chief of
Staff of the Croatian army,
- Lieutenant General Ante Gotovina was appointed Chief Inspector of
the Croatian army,
- Lieutenant General Miljenko Crnjac was appointed head of the
Military Cabinet of the President of the Republic,
- Lieutenant General Josip Lucic was appointed Commander of the
Croatian Military Academy,
- Vice-admiral Davorin Kajic was appointed Assistant Chief-of-Staff
in charge of the Croatian Navy,
- Lieutenant General Imra Agotic was appointed Assistant Chief-of-
Staff in charge of the Croatian Air Force and Anti-Aircraft
Defence,
- Vice-admiral Vid Stipetic was appointed Commander of the Croatian
Navy, as of June 1 1996,
- Major General Josip Culetic was appoitned Commander of the
Croatian Air Force and Anti-Aircraft Defence.
III.
- Staff Admiral Sveto Letica was relieved of his duty as Commander
of the Croatian Navy and pensioned off as of June 1, 1996,
- General Anton Tus was relieved of his duty as head of the Office
for International Military Cooperation and pensioned off,
- Admiral Bozidar Grubisic was relieved of his duty as Deputy Chief
Inspector of the Croatian Army and pensioned off,
- Major General Luka Djanko was relieved of his duty as Commander
of the Bjelovar military zone and pensioned off,
- Major General Vinko Vrbanac was relieved of his duty as head of
the Operative Department of the Croatian Army Staff and pensioned
off.
IV.
- Lieutenant General Djuro Decak was appointed Commander of the
Djakovo military zone,
- Major General Marijan Marekovic was appointed Commander of the
Karlovac military zone,
- Major General Mirko Norac was appointed Commander of teh Knin
military zone,
- Major General Damir Krsticevic was appointed Commander of the
Pazin military zone,
- Major General Milivoj Petkovic was appointed Commander of the
Ston military zone,
- Major General Ivan Korade was appointed Commander of the
Varazdin military zone.
All the decisions took immediate effect, said the
statement, which was signed by President's aide Maj. Gen. Kresimir
Kaspar.
