STOCKHOLM, March 7 (Hina) - Peaceful reintegration of the remaining
occupied Croatian areas was the key to the overall normalization of
the situation in former Yugoslavia, Croatian Foreign Minister Mate
Granic said during his speech at the Swedish Institute for
international relations in Stockholm on Thursday. #L#
The reintegration would be carried out in a peaceful way,
since the local Serbs had accepted the idea of reintegration for
the first time. However, the process of reintegration should be
completed with the help of the international community, he added.
The Croatian foreign minister also spoke about the
implementation of the Dayton agreement, establishment of the
Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and aims of the Croatian state
policy. Croatia wanted to become a full member of the European
Union and NATO, Granic said, adding that 'a stable Croatia, fully
integrated into Europe, can be an important factor of regional
stability'.
Granic is to meet his Swedish counterpart Lena Hjelm-Wallen
and Immigration Minister Leif Blomberg in the afternoon.
He will also meet members of Croatian associations in Sweden.
