PLOCE, March 2 (Hina) - Slovenia's consul general to Split,
Aladar Belec, and the president of the Slovene society "Triglav",
Bostjan Kordis, on Saturday visited the southern Croatian port
town of Ploce where they met members of the Ploce branch of the
Triglav society.
The society brings together ethnic Slovenes from Ploce,
Orebic, Opuzen, Metkovic and other towns and villages in
Dubrovnik County and the Neretva river valley.
The talks focused on rights of the local Slovene community
to Slovene citizenship certificates, passports and other
documents and on the preservation and development of the Slovene
language, culture and tradion within the Triglav society.
The Slovene guests also met Ploce mayor Josko Damic with
whom they discussed economic and cultural issues and
possibilities of establishing traffic and economic links between
Ploce and the Slovene port of Koper.
