"The entire stay in Davos can be divided in two parts. The
first part is within the unofficial meeting of world heads of
states and governments and leading economic experts, that
considered themes important to the economic progress in next few
years," Matesa said upon the arrival in Zagreb.
The second part of the world forum in Davos was dedicated to
the maintenance of peace in the Balkans. "We are not so happy about
the term," Matesa said explaining that Croatia did not belong to
the Balkans. However, he added, the Croatian officials' presence at
that part of the forum "could at least influence the course of
events" and they could also express their opinion, which was very
useful , Matesa said.
Besides, in Davos there were opportunities for many bilateral
meetings.
Matesa pointed to meetings with premiers of Albania, Alexandar
Meksi, of Bulgaria, Zan Videnov, of Slovenia, Janez Drnovsek, and
of the Czech Republic, Vaclav Klaus who will soon visit Croatia.
