Reiterating that the party had achieved "remarkable results",
he stressed it should be strengthened in the interests of the state
and its future.
"Due to internal and external circumstances, for fixing up
the Croatia's position in the world, we shall need the HDZ as a
central party for decades ahead," Tudjman said.
Commenting on attempts of destabilization, he added that the
appropriate "legal regulations should be adopted," to prevent
direct destabilization and defamation of the party and whole
Croatia.
Speaking of the relation toward other political parties,
Tudjman said that the HDZ would continue to offer cooperation with
all those who were on side of a democratic and sovereign Croatia.
"Let us be decisive, never allowing discreditation of the
Croatian Democratic Union, the party which had realized the
millennial dream of the Croatian people," he said, adding that the
party members who opposed that leadership's policy and decisions
should be changed.
