The discussion was expected to cover current results in the
process of ownership transformation and privatization, the abuses
in it, completing of the changes in the economic system, the
questions of current social policy, reconstruction and demographic
renewal.
The party's leader, and Croatian President Franjo Tudjman
proposed to the Central Committee to support an appeal to be
forwarded to German Chancellor Helmut Kohl.
The appeal was suggested by party members living in Germany
and was related to recent cancellation of the Croatian program on
the Cologne-based West German Radio (WDR). The WDR's managers
dismissed the Croatian Editorial Board and transferred it into the
scope of the Editorial Board for South-East Europe, Tudjman said.
The appeal expressed concern over the decision.
