SARAJEVO, Feb 23 (Hina) - Some 100 to 159 persons due to leave
Bosnia-Herzegovina under the Dayton agreement provisions were still
inside the country, an intelligence officer with the NATO-led
Implementation Force (IFOR) said Friday.
IFOR had information and reports about "a number of sites"
where such persons were undergoing a military training, General
John Sylvester, head of intelligence operations department with the
IFOR H.Q., told a news conference in Sarajevo.
"When we are ready, we will take appropriate actions and
search through these places," he added.
The commanding officers with the IFOR had good reasons for a
recent action in Fojnica, near Sarajevo, where they had found a
training camp run by Iranian instructors, General Sylvester said,
but added that there was no firm evidence of terrorist attacks
allegedly planned from the camp.
He bluntly denied allegations that the Iranians were abused at
apprehension.
"I can assure you that we have treated them like
schoolchildren," he said.
