SPLIT, Jan 26 (Hina) - Turkish logistics ship 'Burhanettini Isin'
carrying heavy weapons and other military equipment for Turkish
IFOR (Implementation Force) troops in Bosnia-Herzegovina, entered
the Split Northern Port this morning. On board the ship were also
the last 170 Turkish soldiers who are to join the Turkish IFOR
units in Bosnia. There were 1577 Turkish IFOR soldiers in Bosnia-
Herzegovina currently, IFOR spokesman in Divulje (near Split) Major
Chester Krokowski told the Croatian news agency Hina.
The equipment that arrived today was the last shipment,
Krokowski said. Several containers, 13 tanks, six cannons, 29
armoured transporter vehicles and 13 trucks had been unloaded from
the ship, Krokowski said.
Some soldiers and a part of the equipment had set out for
Zenica, central Bosnia, but the main part of the cargo would be
transported by convoys tomorrow. The tanks would be transported by
trucks, Krokowski said.
