Describing the scene in his letter, Bozic recalled that no one
had access to the enclosed space (at the airport) where the buses
with prisoners were parked -- including head of the Herzeg-Bosnia's
office for prisoners exchange Berislav Pusic and the ICRC's
(International Red Cross) envoy.
"In order to proceed with the release, Mr. Pusic beckoned the
policeman to tell him to let the prisoners go.
"But, while approaching, he was assaulted by 15 French IFOR
troops. Then he turned away, back to the bus, but the troops came
up with him and, after several blows, pushed him into the bus,"
Bozic said in the letter, demanding that "the incident be
investigated and the perpetrators be called to account."
