The talks considered current details in implementation of the
Dayton peace accord and of the Basic Agreement on the reintegration
of the Croatian Danubian area into the constitutional and legal
system of the Republic of Croatia.
Sanader reiterated the firm commitment of Croatian state
authorities to the peaceful reintegration of eastern Slavonia,
Baranja and western Slavonia, and pointed to the importance of the
successful implementation of the reintegration to the entire
process of normalization of Croatian-Serbian relations.
Sanader said that ideas were unacceptable about revival of any
southern Slavic or Balkans "union", still advocated by certain
political and intellectual European circles. Croatia urges that
there be good neighbouring cooperation based at a bilateral level,
and exclusively on the grounds of the mutual recognition of the
sovereign countries, he added.
Sanader and his guest talked about the progress in the process
of strengthening of the Croat-Moslem Federation of Bosnia-
Herzegovina, as the only possible way toward the just and permanent
settlement to the crisis in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Present at the talks was Sanader's deputy, Vesna Skare-
Ozbolt," said the statement.
