FINAL GOAL OF U.S.A. - RETURN OF E SLAVONIA INTO CROATIA, GELBARD SAYS

SAYS ZAGREB, Jan 22 (Hina) - As regards the Dayton agreements, the aim of the United States was the final return of eastern Slavonia into Croatia, under the mandate established by the U.N. Security Council Resolution on U.N. Transitional Administration for Eastern Slavonia (UNTAES), aide to the U.S. Secretary of State, Robert Gelbard, told a press conference after today's meeting with Croatian Interior Minister Ivan Jarnjak in Zagreb. Gelbard and Jarnjak discussed the establishment of police forces which would participate in the implementation of the peaceful reintegration of the Croatian Danubian area, as well as expert and educational assistance of U.S. police forces to the Croatian police.
