The United States had promised to secure 200 policemen and
some of them were intended for parallel efforts aimed at
maintaining peace in eastern Slavonia', U.S. Secretary of State's
aide for human rights, John Shattuck, said.
Speaking about the composition of the international police
force in Bosnia-Herzegovina before the Committee for Foreign
Affairs, Shattuck recalled that 50 million dollars had to be
granted by U.S. Congress for the implementation of the program.
