SARAJEVO, Jan 27 (Hina) - Leaders of the ruling Bosnian Muslim
Party of Democratic Action (SDA) opened a two-day party conference
in Sarajevo on Saturday.
In his opening address Bosnian President (and party leader)
Alija Izetbegovic said that the SDA remained committed to the
principles of freedom, democracy and human rights, in persistent
struggle against hatred and revenge. #L#
He stressed that the SDA has put forth a significant effort in
order to establish the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina and
reiterated the readiness to continue talks with the party's Croat
partner -- Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia-Herzegovina -- to
reach the final consensus.
The conference was also addressed by the Federation Vice
President Ejup Ganic who stressed the party's moderate orientation
as "the only one which could ensure progress."
The conference is expected to mark the main topics of the
party's strategy ahead of the election, envisaged to be held next
fall. The SDA's central committee would also discuss resignation of
Bosnian Prime Minister Haris Silajdzic, as he had also resigned
from his party post.
