ZAGREB, Jan 19 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on Friday
received the US Assistant Secretary of State for European Affairs,
Richard Holbrooke, the Presidential Office said in a statement.
Holbrooke was accompanied by US Ambassador to Croatia Peter
Galbraith, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State John Cornbloom,
General Wesley Clark, and the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State
for US troops in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Tom Longstreth.
The talks focused on the strengthening of the Bosnian Croat-
Moslem Federation and the implementation of the Dayton peace
accords.
Special emphasis was laid on the positive role of Croatia and
its authorites, which the US considered crucial in the
implementation of the Dayton agreement.
Also attending were Presidential Chief of Staff Ivo Sanader,
Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Kostovic, Defence Minister Gojko Susak,
Special Presidential Envoy and Croatian Ambassador to the US Miomir
Zuzul, Presidential Foreign Policy Adviser and Presidential Aide
General Kresimir Kaspar, the statement concluded.
