"The delineation and location of the border between the two
countries in this region is well known and has been confirmed by
the Badinter Commission", said Mr. Drobnjak at a session of the
U.N. Security Council, ahead of the adoption of a resolution on
extending mandate of U.N military observers in Prevlaka.
'Croatia is ready to continue seeking all possible peaceful
solutions to existing problems, at the core of which is not the
Prevlaka peninsula, but the Boka Kotorska bay. Croatia supports the
view that the access to the Boka Kotorska bay in neighbouring
Montenegro should be free.", said Drobnjak.
The Croatian official also stressed that this resolution
opened possibilities of the arrangement for a new monitoring
mission in this area, and added that the resolution saw the
Prevlaka peninsula as an integral part of Croatia.
The resolution called on the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia
(Serbia/Montenegro) to recognize the internationally accepted
borders of all Successor States to the former Socialist Federal
Republic of Yugoslavia and, thus, the Croatian border in the area
of Prevlaka, Drobnjak said.
