of the eastern Slavonia, Baranja and western Srijem region,

The UNTAES's military component would count 5,000 men in
charge to oversee the demilitarization and the return of the
displaced people.
The Basic Agreement signed by both sides envisaged the
demilitarization to be completed within 30 days, after the UNTAES
deployment.
The civilian component of the mission would have mandate to
establish a transitional police force, to facilitate the return of
the displaced people and to organize elections.
The transitional administrator would have complete authority
over both components of the UNTAES.
Another resolution, envisaging continued presence of the U.N.
at the Prevlaka peninsula, was also to be put to vote on Friday.
