Stressing that the Ministry and the Office were jointly acting
in order to enable the displaced persons to return to their homes,
Radic said their key aim was to set conditions for reconstruction
and to enable the returnees to earn their living.
Jambor agreed with such an approach, saying that the UNHCR was
ready to assist such projects.
The Republic of Croatia also needed to be assisted by
international experts to clear the land of mines as soon as
possible, Radic said.
On behalf of the Office for displaced persons and refugees,
Zoric asked that the UNHCR's relief be carried from their temporary
shelters to the place of return, in order to enable a speedier
return, the statement said.
