Sadry voiced optimism, the statement said, as regards the
beginning of the implementation of the Basic Agreement,
particularly stressing some explicit steps such as work of the
joint commissions.
The U.N. Security Council was expected to adopt a resolution
on the Basic agreement implementation not later than January 15, so
that the Transitional Administration, led by General Klein, could
start working on January 16.
Sanader conveyed the President's view that the presence of the
U.N. Military Observers was no longer necessary at the Prevlaka
Peninsula, in the context of the normalization of relations between
Croatia and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
