SARAJEVO, Jan 10 (Hina) - The Constitutional Court of the Bosnian
Moslem-Croat Federation was established on Wednesday with the aim
of protecting vital interests of the two constituent nations and
resolving disputes between local and federal authorities.
The court has the authority to relieve of duty the president
and vice-president of the Federation. It is one of the three
highest judicial authorities foreseen by the Federal Constitution,
along with the Supreme Court and the Human Rights Tribunal.
Omer Ibrahimagic, who was elected president of the
Constitutional Court, said that its establishment marked an
important step in building the Moslem-Croat Federation.
Ibrahimagic said he hoped that the court would help replace
the power of arms with the power of justice and equity in Bosnia-
Herzegovina.
Mirko Boskovic was elected vice-president of the
Constitutional Court for a term of one year while Milan Bajic,
Muamer Herceglija, Katarina Mandic and Dusko Vuleta were named as
judges.
Foreign judges appointed to the court in line with a decision
of the International Court of Justice include Bola Ajibola of
Nigeria, Francois Ernest Robert Rigaux of Belgium and Abduallah
Fikril El-Khani of Syria.
