SARAJEVO, Jan 10 (Hina) - Tuesday night was calm following a
Bosnian Serb attack on a tramway in downtown Sarajevo in the
afternoon, which killed one and wounded nineteen.
The number of IFOR tanks and APCs was increased after the
attack, but so far there has been no other answer to the Bosnian
Government's call for a speedy and determined IFOR action to punish
the terrorists.
Traffic along the so-called "sniper boulevard" was resumed
this morning but the situation is still tense, particularly after
Momcilo Krajisnik's (Bosnian Serb leader) threats to repeat the
attack if the deadline for yielding the Serb-held parts of Sarajevo
to the Federation is not extended till mid-September.
IFOR representatives said this morning that orders
regarding possible further actions were being expected.
The US President's special representative Robert Galucchi
is expected to arrive in Sarajevo today to meet President Alija
Izetbegovic.
According to Bosnian Foreign Minister Muhamed Sacirbey,
this latest attack was meant as a personal challenge to President
Bill Clinton, who is to visit Sarajevo on Friday.
