TUDJMAN RECEIVES DELEGATION OF SERB NATIONAL COUNCIL & JOINT COUNCIL OF MUNICIPALITIES

COUNCIL OF MUNICIPALITIES ( Editorial: --> 6387 ) ZAGREB, Dec 6 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on Saturday received a delegation of the Serb National Council and the Joint Council of (Serb) Municipalities, the President's office said in a statement. The delegation included Milorad Pupovac, Vojislav Stanimirovic, Milos Vojnovic, Slobodan Uzelac and Milenko Vucetic. The delegation informed Tudjman about the existing problems in the Danube river region of eastern Croatia. A positive assessment was given to the activity of the National Committee for the restoration of inter-ethnic trust. President Tudjman condemned instances of starting court proceedings contrary to the general amnesty act. All bodies of state authority will continue with a consistent implementation of the peaceful reintegration of eastern Croatia, in line with the Constitution and the Constitutional Law, he pointed out. We have reached the end of the peaceful reintegration process and now we have to ensure normal living to all residents of eastern Croatia, in their own interest, in the interest of the Osijek- Baranja and Vukovar-Srijem Counties, as well as in the interest of Croatia, President Tudjman said. Also present at today's meeting were the President's advisor for interior affairs, Ivic Pasalic, ministers of justice and administration Miroslav Separovic and Davorin Mlakar, the President's deputy chief of staff, Vesna Skare-Ozbolt, and prefects of the Osijek-Baranja and Vukovar-Srijem Counties, Anica Horvat and Rudolf Koenig.
