ZAGREB, Nov 7 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic on
Friday received the UN transitional administrator for the Danube
river region of eastern Croatia, William Walker, the Foreign
Ministry said in a statement.
Granic and Walker discussed the current state of the peaceful
reintegration of the Danube river region in light of a report Walker
is to submit to the UN secretary general later this month and the
final decision of the UN Security Council on the termination of the
UNTAES mandate in Croatia.
Both Granic and Walker believed the UNTAES mission would, in line
with UN documents, successfully terminate on 15 January 1998.
Walker was satisfied with cooperation with Croatian President
Franjo Tudjman and the Croatian government. He pointed out the very
successful work of and cooperation with the National Committee for
the restoration of trust.
