ZAGREB, 8 Nov (Hina) - Following his meeting with the Croatian
President Franjo Tudjman in Zagreb on Saturday, the U.N.
Transitional Administrator in Eastern Slavonia William Walker
stated he and President Franjo Tudjman discussed the situation in
the Croatian Danube river region, in particular the reconciliation
process, the police functioning and the municipal government
functioning.
We are trying to see what date in December would be best for the
Security Council to discuss the situation in the Croatian Danube
river region, Walker said.
"I would guess some time before the middle of December", he added.
Asked whether UNTAES would definitely leave the area on 15 January,
Walker said there was a fairly general consensus developing that in
February he would be back in California.
