ZAGREB, Nov 14 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on Friday
received credentials from Poland's Ambassador to Croatia, Jerzy
Mieczyslav Chmielewski.
Recalling that the Polish government had been among the first to
establish full diplomatic relations with Croatia, Chmielewski said
that Poland, a member of the Security Council this year and to chair
the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe the next,
would offer lasting support to full peaceful reintegration of the
Danube river region of eastern Croatia and to Croatia's legitimate
aspirations to become member of international and European
institutions.
President Tudjman said that Croatia and Poland belonged to "similar
Slavic peoples who knew how to learn through experience from both
positive and negative circumstances."
Today, Croatia and Poland were subjects in the European and
international community, Tudjman said, adding he believed that
relations between the two countries would develop in all fields.
