SARAJEVO, Nov 6 (Hina) - International High Representative to
Bosnia-Herzegovina Carlos Westendorp on Thursday expressed
dissatisfaction with the slow implementation of economic reforms,
warning that such a situation may lead to a new crisis in the
country.
Westendorp was speaking to reporters after a meeting with the
Presidency and the Council of Ministers of Bosnia-Herzegovina,
which also involved representatives of the member states of the
Steering Committee for the implementation of the peace agreement.
The Steering Committee meets every month to analyse the situation
in the country. After today's meeting it released a special
statement warning that the central government bodies had failed to
meet the commitments set before them.
The problems cited in the statement included laws on citizenship
and travel documents, uniform number plates, property laws,
freedom of the media, the reorganisation of the Usora municipality
and the establishment of multi-ethnic government in Brcko.
Those in the joint bodies of government who systematically block
the progress should be removed, the statement said.
