BUGOJNO, 6 Nov (Hina) - Representatives of the U.S. non-government
organisation United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) and a
group of Croat refugees from central Bosnia on Thursday signed an
agreement on the reconstruction of refugees' houses.
Out of 500 Croat family houses in four villages in Bugojno
municipality (under Bosniak control), 451 houses are to be
reconstructed. It has been agreed that 85 family houses will be
reconstructed in the first phase.
Under the agreement, UMCOR will participate in the reconstruction
of houses belonging to IV - V damage categories by providing
construction material amounting to 10,000 German marks.
Representatives of the U.S. Embassy, U.S. humanitarian
organisation Catholic Relief Services (CRS) and Bugojno municipal
authorities recently signed a letter of intent on the return of all
refugees.
In the letter of intent Bugojno authorities pledge to secure the
return of all pre-war residents of Bugojno without harassment,
intimidation or discrimination on ethnic, religious or political
bases.
