the European Union Fund. #L#
As of tomorrow, 20 September, residents in one entity will be
able to make phone calls to the other entity. A person from
Republika Srpska calling someone from the Federation will have to
use the town code and a zero, for example, if someone from Banja
Luka makes a phone call to Sarajevo, he will have to dial 0710
before dialling home number.
Residents of the Federation will have to use new codes for
Republika Srpska: 053 for Banja Luka, 051 for Pale, 059 for Prijedor
etc. The capacity is limited as only one of three lines has been
made operational, while the second and the third will start
operating by end October. Tariffs for inter-entity calls will be the
same as those for long-distance calls within entities.
The European Union project is worth 5.5 million dollars and it
includes the installing of a radio-relay net in Republika Srpska as
well as a training project in three post and telecommunication
stations in the Federation, which is to last three years.
