President of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, Nadan
Vidosevic, and his Bosnian counterpart, Mensur Smajlovic, agreed
that the unbalance in the exchange of goods, that is, Croatia's very
high export surplus, was the biggest problem in their relations at
the moment.
Croatia's export into Bosnia was 12 times as big as its import
from Bosnia last year.
As Croatia has begun in the past few months to import electric
energy from Bosnia-Herzegovina, the relation changed to 5:1.
However, presidents of the two chambers of commerce agreed
that measures should be taken to increase the import of Bosnian
products into Croatia.
The second important problem was a "faded border" between the
two countries, which enabled Croatian goods exported to Bosnia to
return to the Croatian market and be sold cheaper than in Croatia,
the representatives said.
