Poland's Deputy Economy Minister Jan Chaladay recalled the
results of reforms which have been implemented in Poland since 1989.
Neven Mimica, assistant to Croatian Economy Minister, informed the
meeting about Croatia's achievements in reforming its economy.
Foreign trade between Croatia and Poland in 1996 amounted to
105 million dollars, out of which Poland's export amounted to 50 and
Croatia's export to 55 million dollars, which is 15.2% more than in
1995.
After an agreement on free trade is signed, trade between the
two countries will be much more intense, Chaladay said, adding that
Croatia is a natural partner for Poland.
Shipbuilding, transport, textile industry, chemical industry,
construction services and food production are some of the branches
in which economic cooperation is possible.
Members of chambers of commerce of several Polish and Croatian
towns signed cooperation agreements during the day.
