COMMERCE DISCUSS TRADE
LJUBLJANA, Sept 9 (Hina) - The presidents of the chambers of commerce
of Slovenia and Croatia, Jozko Cuk and Nadan Vidosevic, met in Ljubljana
on Tuesday for talks aimed at boosting trade and concluding a free trade
agreement.
The two officials told reporters after the talks that this year's trade
between Slovenia and Croatia could reach about 1.3 billion US dollars.
They added that a free trade agreement could be signed by the end
of this year or at the beginning of the next.
Vidosevic said that some issues relating to trade in the
petrochemical, oil and pharmaceutical industries should be left to be solved
by companies themselves.
A free trade agreement with Slovenia and other member states of the
Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) is one of the conditions
for Croatia's admission to that organisation.
