Business people from the Split-Dalmatia County held a meeting
with business people from Ancona in the Italian town on Saturday.
President of regional associations of chambers of commerce,
Giuseppe Chinolini, spoke about the efforts and financial support of
the Italian government for the promotion of economic relations with
neighbouring countries, and stressed the importance of Croatian-
Italian, Slovenian-Italian, Montenegran-Italian, Bosnian-Italian and
Albanian-Italian chambers of commerce in the increase of trade of
these countries in the Adriatic.
Chinolini said the Italian government supported programmes
concerning fishing fairs, prevention of pollution and overuse of the
Adriatic, and added that he expected financial and political support
of the programmes from the Croatian government.
President of the Split County Chamber of Commerce, Ivo
Markusovic, stressed that Croatia had not signed an application form
to any association of chambers of commerce on both sides of the
Adriatic. Those are the remains of the former country, he added.
Present at the talks in Ancona was the Croatian Consul in
Milan, Andro Krstulovic Opara.
